staying safe when datingFirst dates are exciting dates. These are the dates that are usually worth remembering. You would always look back to a first date that gave you a memorable experience. On the other hand, there are also dates that are traumatic. There are those who have experienced being abused right on first dates. Women, in particular, are the most common victims. This is often caused by being unaware of the things that they should do. More often than not, women are just so concerned with what they should wear rather than thinking on how they would be safe. There’s really a need for women to be oriented with the things that they should do to be safe. Read several tips and instructions on how to be safe on a first date before you head out to your meeting place.

  • Familiarize yourself with the place. Days before the date, try to visit the place. It helps that you know something about your meeting place so that you would know where to run in case of emergencies.
  • Meet in public places. It will lessen the possibility of being in danger.
  • Take a chaperon with you. It could be a friend or a family member. At least there would be someone beside you on case you will be stood up. Your chaperon could stay from a distance if you opt not to make your date notice that you have someone with you. Learn a good strategy to conceal it.
  • Wear something decent. Avoid wearing revealing clothes if you want your date to respect you. Don’t invite temptations.
  • Be alert. Look for signs that you could be in danger. If you feel nervous or uneasy being with the person, trust what your instincts say and leave.
  • Avoid intimacy or physical contact. Protect yourself. Don’t be too confident that you are in good hands. The first kiss should not be on the first date or on the second date. Save it for later when your relationship is already going to the next level.
  • Keep an eye on your drink. Don’t easily trust the person.

These are just small things but they could make you stay alive and safe on your first date. Don’t put your life into danger.
