How to Help my Man with Stress

stressed manStress is a part of life. Everybody has a share of burden to carry. We only differ in the way we handle problems. When we try to compare men and women, the former are weaker when it comes to emotional stress. Men actually try to deceive other people by showing that everything is perfectly fine. They are not brave enough to face the reality. They are not brace enough to admit that they actually need help because they are protecting their ego. However, if you are sensitive enough and you know that your man is in need of your help, you must not hesitate to offer your hand. Have a look at some tips and ways on how to help your man with stress.

  • Pamper him. When you feel that he is stressed out, simply do the things that would at least give comfort to him. Why don’t you prepare his favourite meal? Cook and serve him. Another option is to give him a body massage. You may not be talking about the issue that bothers him but at least you are doing something to pamper him and make him feel better.
  • Wait for him to open up. Let him express himself. Avoid pushing him to talk it out. Forcing him may not be good to him. It might even worsen the situation.
  • Avoid nagging at him. When you feel that he is going through something serious, you might want to be silent even for the meantime. Avoid talking a lot because it actually annoys men.
  • Be supportive. Your presence, touch or even hugs matter to him a lot when he is stressed out. Make him feel that he is not alone and that you are there for him. Give him a big warm hug.
  • Make him laugh. Share something funny or make him watch an entertaining TV program or a hilarious movie.

As a partner, you simply have to do your part. If there’s something that you could do to help him out aside from the aforementioned ways, feel free to do it. Help your partner manage stress properly so you can avoid complications.
