How to Avoid Quarrels with your SpouseConflicts and quarrels are part of a normal relationship. They exist to test the love that couples share. Disagreements exist to test the ability of couples to compromise. But too much fight and disagreement can actually destroy a relationship. It is not healthy to have a lot of fights. Married couples should spend their time loving each other and not fighting over things. Couples can avoid fights when they know how to manage their emotions.   • Consider the consequences of your action before you act. Before you even do a thing, you need to think first. If you know that it will make your husband or wife upset or angry, then you should not do it.
  • Avoid saying hurtful words to your spouse. Hurtful words can cause the feeling like you are being wounded by a knife. Avoid throwing insults to your spouse.
  • Back off. When you feel like a fight is about to erupt, try to cool off by being silent. Calm yourself down before you face your partner.
  • Apologize. Saying sorry can lessen the tension between the two of you. Even if it isn’t your fault, learn to swallow your pride and say sorry. It is a great way of showing that you care about your relationship.
  • Go to your partner and give him or her warm hug or kiss. Physical intimacy helps people to pacify themselves.

When you are arguing or fighting with your spouse, you should not focus on how you are going to win the fight. Doing this every time you fight will consume your relationship. Bear in mind that you are not always right. What you think isn’t always right. Compromise is the key.
